New/Old Player. Am I really about to do this?

So, yeah, it's been nearly 11 years.. maybe more since i've played UO. Got to talking about UO the other day, and discovered this. I've read up on this server, read some of you guys' threads. I've downloaded it, now i'm like "wtf do i do now".

My first instinct was to, of course make a tamer/mage/provo etc.. But after reading up on this server, not so sure about that. More like a melee money maker. I just haven't played in SO long, i've forgotten alot. (kinda like Peter Pan in Hook).. lol If any of you have some golden words of wisdom for an Old new "NoOb", that would be awesome.

Also, i use to play on Atlantic shard, from like 99-2004. Wooooo.. ULTIMA!

A good starting char is a provo dexxer I like doing music/provo/resist/fencing/tactics/anatomy/healing or you can ditch resist or something and get hiding. Next to start out the first thing i get is i go to johlem graveyard and you can use provocation on skeletons or zombies till you get 70 provo then do provo on skele knights to 90 and then you need to find a rotting corpse to gm, then i work on my melee skills.

There is great money to be made from killing monster since you could get gold,weps,skillscrolls they also have chances to drop rare statues and such.

If you dont want to farm and go the provo way i would recommend spending like 10$ at the donation store and getting 1k donation coins which you can turn around and sell in game for 180-200k and with that starting money you can do maybe 2 melee chars and buy bandies and make them attack eachother to gm which will be really fast.

I'm with noobs, provo dexer, then when you get some cash change it to provo archer.

i would do.

Fencing (change out for archery when you get some money)
tactics
anat
healing
music
provo
hiding

all the skills are pretty easy to train up with almost no cash and you can make some great money really quick.

That's what I was thinking, provo dexxer. It's just weird to be starting it all over again. LOL Thanks guys! I just need a char to bring in some money first, then I can change it up. It's just difficult to readapt to this. hah Guttersnipe, not the same Tyler, but everyone thought we were back in the day. haha

haha.. Yeah, since i've been playing again the memories are FLOODING back. Wow, i've missed this game. (theres goes my social life) I just wish i could remember my old account login. Thanks guys! I will definitely be looking for a guild. So far I've been just been reacquainting myself with everything. Farming, grinding, and macroing. I did a typical, tamer/mage/music/provo char for the time being. I'm just so happy to see so many people on this server! O.O

Geez i thought u were doing pretty good myself Tyler! i think i quit when you did back in the day. I made all my money of ingots back then, and seems thats the way im doing it today lol. Maybe if i could just get my tamer finished i could experience more!

Haha.. Yeah, i quit playing a little after Samurai Empire. It just wasn't the same UO from 98. I made most of my money back then from selling alot of rare items that you couldn't get any more. Especially those Leprechaun Boots, the original evil mage cloth, and bless deeds. haha.. That's why i decided to do the tamer/mage again, it's what i started with back then. Eventually, i'll probably turn red again.. LOL

lol, u stuck wth it longer then me then. after trammel came around, i hung around for maybe 6 months then or so then packed er in.

Welcome back ! I also came back for the same reason and played up till a little after sameri empire. Also played atlantic. Evil mage coth used to be rare now you can just get in in a bod.
