Mysterious Gate Sighting and Findings

Found my first Mysterious Gate earlier. Being poorly adapted to the PvM arts, I called in the support of my fellow IRC warriors and @bradley- stepped up to assist.

I couldn't really contribute as the mobs immediately dispelled EVs but they didn't seem too difficult as @bradley- virtually solo'd it.I was throwing in some heals but they weren't really even necessary. Even the boss went down relatively easily.

It was just one level and the mobs didn't drop anything fancy this time. It looked like there were more levels but @Carl informed us that initially it would just be one level, although I'm assuming there are other differently themed dungeons.

Thanks, apparently that dungeon is too easy :p time to do some tweaking. I appreciate feedback like this.

Hello folks, intrepid reporter Parsnip here, back with more news. Another gate has been spotted and this one is an absolute death trap. Madman @Carl won't let us have this treasure easily! Mobs here move fast and hit hard.

There may be some "shiniez" to be had here as the boss seems to be quite a hoarder!

Yeah well next restart when we implement the justice/valor board these mobs will be a lot harder. I realized I had a typo on the bosses for each RDA but that is FIXED!

ive just visited the second one in parsnips great report, (currently north of skara maze) and to say Carl has made them harder is a understatement,

i stepped in to be met by 9 salamanders. each dealing average of 35 damage and super quick, i was dead in seconds to say the least.

are these gates worth doing and are the rewards any good does anyone know?

Ehh sometimes they are sometimes they aren't.

Trying to find this one by the hedge maze, any hints?

Notced this near X-Roads and that bridge (Near T-map location 26 or 16) about a couple of weeks ago by random, when testing out taming.

Now it turns out it has appeared in the same spot again today:

Surprisingly noting the houses are totally different, but the location is the same as the picture below shows it:

So I'm assuming that these mysterious gates does not have random spots after all, but limited in same randomly selected spots almost like treasure chests do.

What is supporting this fact is that someone gated himself to this mysterious gate location, when it was active. So the locations must be somehow known.

One mysterious gate has been spotted in Destard as well.

Lol - watching my friends monitor ftw, he jumped on his thief went into one, and we just watched (he was hidden) as a few tamers went in and lived about 10 seconds... there were like 5 or 6 metal beetles and a radiation beetle at the gate entry... this was in despise 2 days ago

Plus i highly doubt they are truly random. That would be a crappy algorithm to code. Youd have to not only check every tile in the world but and if its valid but then have to check against player housing and all that. Rather than just having it randomly pic through a large array or something and skipping all the math. Although idk. Im an idot lol
