Hello Everyone,

My 3rd monster contract sent me back into the dungeons to track down the Betrayer. After my last outing in the woods against the Reaper, it was nice to do some dungeon diving again.

This one seemed to take a lot longer because of limited spawn. Killing the Betrayer isn't hard but there are some gazers to deal with sometimes. The reward this time was far superior to my previous contracts.

I'm about 7 in now, and have about 6500 gold to call my own! I feel like there's a lot of potential to this system, but knowing the drop rates are low, and there is nothing unique you are getting for the low tier reward, I'm less inclined to do them. The reality is I can make far better gold farming decent mobs. My last contract was 140 undead knights, fighting in a PvP dungeon, ran into fights about 7 times, took me about 5-6 total hours to do the contract on my meta mage, I farmed about 240-300k gold from the undead knights. I could have farmed much more on my regular farming route, probably 1.2 M or so (of course I probably wouldn't have done that because I bore easy)

I enjoyed going to Khaldun, but one of the things I'm starting to not enjoy is the lack of places some of these mobs spawn, staring at the same dungeon for 5-6 hours for me, really isn't all that engaging - though I'm admittedly horrible at grinding/farming - because I bore easy..

I still think there is a place for lesser contracts, a means to get newer players out farming dungeons after they are done with the Shames & Despises. I'd actually find some satisfaction in going to a dungeon like Cove, and killing 500 harpies, make the quantities big! I think it could be a lot of fun..

Also - super contracts - in the vein of slayers, you are killing a mob type, versus a set mob... Could be very interesting..

obviously the contracts arent to bad because i dont see the forums filling up with contracts they dont want to do.

i don't think there is a market for them due to the time constraints, and the types of mobs. I suspect people aren't really jumping all over this system, now two weeks in - the initial onslaught will always happen. I'd be curious to know how many are being done now. I know some people are still doing them, but I'm not getting anywhere near the competition at the mobs, that I did the first 4 days, nor are they generating much attention in the forums, or in discord from what I can see. Most people are over them already, which if that is the case, it's pretty disheartening because the system does have a ton of potential.

In my alliance we were keeping track of contracts/rewards and of those reporting, 23 people got the tiny gold rewards, one person got a level 7 tmap, one got a pixie, one got the domination flag, and two got bloody explosion relics. No one has reported turning in contracts for days now. Most people are basically losing money doing these and there's just not enough incentive to keep trying.

To be honest though, those odds don't sound horrible, 5 in 28 giving you decent rewards? That said, it's a low sample count, so could be entirely sku'd. But that's the common theme I'm seeing too

Yeah, I'm guessing it's a bit skewed toward people who were excited to report getting something good. I very much doubt that one person doing 28 contracts would get 5 rewards -- in the other thread Decoy reported doing 14 contracts and got nothing but gold.

Regardless of what the exact odds are, it seems pretty clear by now that the majority aren't getting anything. Maybe that makes sense to Eppy because he sees statues as worthless garbage clogging up the server and he just wants them gone, but that's not necessarily how players feel about them.
