Last I knew yes the xp resets upon transfer. Maybe it was changed.

Heads up, you absolutely do lose the progress of your current level if you transfer this meta mid-stage.

I'm going to lvl him to lvl 6 then I want to auction him off. I have about 130k exp left should be done in a day or 2. When He is lvl 6 I'll inform winner. I've had an offer if 3mil. So I'll start there.
