Limit the number of times someone can bump their own selling thread in a specific time. @Skye Wolfbane

Some of these sellers are simply spamming the selling threads with their useless crap no one is bidding on!

I'm not even sure if there's a function to be able to do that Lex. One problem is those selling threads are so busy and there's so many new ones every day that something you posted yesterday is likely to be on page 2 today. I agree it's annoying but I don't see a simple solution.

I guess you could always just add it to your set of written rules... that might help??

The only way that something can be done is if they make it a rule that you can only bump once every 24 hours, and those who break the rule get a 2-5 day suspension from forums. For repeat offenders the suspension doubles every time... so first 2 days, then 4 days, then 8, etc.

It's annoying because if I don't bump my own threads they will get pushed down the front page very quickly due to new posts and lots of other people bumping their own thread. So I have to bump my own thread and the cycle is perpetuated.

If it's that much more work for the mods then just disable replies for the OP so that they can only update the original post and are not able to reply/bump their own threads. Surely this can be done and it requires zero maintenance and solves the problem.

Yeah, let's give the mods more work because you don't like something.

They got to do something to earn those donation coins ;)

But honestly, you know, all it takes is adding one line to Sky's already posted rules. The community will police it after that, watch and see. :p

With the creation of this thread you can already see a pattern change with some of the worst offenders...! It seems a little awareness and respect for all sellers/buyers it all that is needed

Not sure what the problem is with bumping to be honest

For most it's not a problem as they have respect for other sellers and only bump moderately... but there are a handful here that continue bumping their post multiple times a day to make sure they are on the top of the list. That's the annoying part, as a potential buyer, because it keeps pushing legitimate sellers to the second page.

3 or 4 times a day isn't exactly spamming, there's just a lot of people here posting sales threads so you need to bump a few times to stay on page one.

It's more new threads that are causing the 3-4 bumps per day than it is the bumps themselves, maybe all we need is a longer page 1

At some point they should be moved to an Archived Sell Thread. That way the active sell thread isn't haunted constantly unless they post a new thread for it. Even doing that would show how annoying a person is and I wouldn't care what they were selling...
