Take some motes and do the math if you don't wanna take my word for it.
I did.

Mmm my meta is my baby, one of few charcoal hue hatched from a snake and we've been through a lot together. Really close to lvl 10 QS, all other damage relics maxxed.
Wouldn't touch yours with a ten foot pole.
In all honesty the relic makes the meta, but what I said applies about as much for metas as it does for any animal. Your one example of QS seeing a substantial impact is kind of absurd. The obsession with stats is absurd. Do I prefer nice stats? Of course, always trade up if you can. For metas it's a drop in the bucket, but what matters most are additional hit points and mana pool. After that is STR and spell damage, which you want high INT anyway but the actual boost in damage you get from the increase is negligible.
If you can't bother to crunch the numbers then you cannot tell me it's a substantial difference because all you have to go on is anecdotal evidence and not hard facts.
I actually did it out on paper. Compared min and max of fire breath, melee, and eb/fs.
Firebreath was the most complicated. I compared them at full health, half health, and 10% for both max and min hits/str.
Fractions. Of. A. Pt.
RNG and 9 melee attacks on a bear does not mean shit in the grand scheme, I'm sorry to say.
What I do see though is that the min and max hits are both the same, which is ultimately what the discussion is about so I'd like to think that helps the stats don't matter argument. You'll need a larger sample if you wanna talk averages, and more specimens of both tames and targets. I think you'll find these results to be unusual.
But you know what? You actually did something instead of sit there and talk out of your ass like BEN! is. I mean yes, the kid has put a lack of critical thought on display every chance he gets so it's really no surprise, but to think he's actually calling me out for being wrong when he has absolutely no idea what is happening right now. It's though he thinks I didn't sit down and do some real nerdy shit with a pen and a piece of paper one day.
Dude, look at me. I'm a fucking nerd. You can take my word for it.
Right.
Couldn't be any other factors involved either. I mean you guys are hitting the same spawn the same number of times with full health pets and stopping to compare the numbers, right?
I am willing to bet the control you were using in your experiments was very strict.
