I can confirm that my lvl 7 meta is always wonderfully happy. I literally never feed it, I can't remember when the last time I did. Seriously people still feed pets?
I can't confirm but I can say when I'm out hunting I have to feed my nightmare maybe 2 or 3 times but never my meta. I don't think I've ever seen it anything other than wonderfully happy even after a death.
