I think only the deadly poison has a range on it but the poison resist is just inherent to having gun poisoning on a gm mage(ie it is already at your recommendation).This is the current poisoning interaction in PvP scenario.
The only buff i would suggest to this if we would have to make one is to increase the tiles of target being guaranteed poisoned.
This template is privily used in group PvP though. I don't see any reason to push it forward into PvP scenario (Mage combat).
