Finding ways to kill people with traps boxes is an art. Simply handing people a trap box to kill them is not.

It's not so much about trading to get a kill as it is removing the quick buzz kill from someone quickly and easily finding out that it's trapped. If they couldn't see the warning message, their curiosity would build and build to uncontainable levels, and they would have to open the box.
If a player is suspicious of a box they usually just cast telekinesis on it, or recall off to their house to open it. Innovating ways to trick people into opening these boxes is half the fun.
