Ahh I see, google says reserve auctions are for people who dont know the value of what they're selling, and that they generate less interest to buyers, unless the reserve is kept secret. Thanks! I learned a thing :3

Right that's why high end items at real life auctions typically come with a reserve.

A reserve is in place so I can see the interest in my item. If a bid comes close the reserve and there is enough action I might pull the reserve. Else it's there bc it's the minimum I'm willing to accept for the item. If I put this item up with a starting bid of 6.5 someone might wait til the last minute before bidding. I could just hide my reserve but I think people that are serious about buying the item would rather see it there. And people that would consider buying this item in particular wouldn't complain about a 6.5 reserve since this item cost well over that even at the low dono:gold rate we have now.
