Lag?

Halygon, you also said in the other thread that you are away on business in California at the moment. I assume you are staying at hotels, hotel internet is probably not the proper place to be testing/complaining about server lag. It's on your side, not the servers.
Possible, but it's not just him. There have been a LOT of people complaining about the lag lately. Chinese porn? Really? Just because you've never seen a ping that high doesn't mean it's his system.. LOL. That's why this thread exists, to find if there is an issue.

The hilarious part is when now he posts the real information the lag is perfect as opposed to his first post where he was supposedly lagging and timing out so badly and complaining. Halygon, can you delete your first post since it is inaccurate and just giving the shard a bad rap? Thanks.
Real information? Everything I posted has been real information at the time.

What's actually hilarious is how far you try to stretch logic to throw a jab at me.

All I know is how it "feels". The server wasn't running like this for me until a couple of weeks ago. I didn't complain because I figured they already knew about it.

Lol @Raged is one of the least liked people on the shard and his inability to not shit up threads with autistic level crap like this is a big reason why. Just ignore him.

Yeah thats about when it all started for me as well.
As you can see in my screen shots of the tracert and ping tests, it's not the ping that's bad. It is the packet loss, which is causing pauses and freezes.

Actually ping and tracert command is not accurate.. not in game. I mean, yea, you have 180 ping to server from cmd line, but your ingame ping is what matters - it shows real ping you have. So if you have 17 ping from cmd and 250 ingame, guess which one is more important?

Btw my connection is wacked, I ping 180 to server while having 220-300 avrg in game. So it is perfectly possible to have lower server ping and still ping much higher.

I'm in Dallas and have been experiencing the same problem as other posters.

Played here since January and normally have a nice, smooth connection of 30 -40 ping.

But, in the last several weeks, my connection, when at its best, is 30 -40 with spikes to nearly 200 every 10 seconds or so.

At its worst, it's 180 with nasty spikes up to 350 plus.

actually EVERYTHING I have heard says youo are completely wrong. Not flaming you, but I have always heard and even from admins that cmd ping is more accurate than in game -ping. Who knows so much conflicting information.

Also as youo can see in my tests my ping is not that bad its the PACKET LOSS.

Edit: Also if you look at my screens you will also see my in game -pings...

Yea, but if it's true and my 180 ping is this bad.. uuuugh. Awful. I chase people to see them dissapear from the screen, and not because they hid.. they simply dissapear, because client realises they are further away, or on different tile. Makes pvp rather.. hard.

So, I got home and ran the same pings on my 50/25 mb/s network in Dallas and the blurps are still there. See below (now compared to the hotel internet my ping is slightly ( ;) ) better.

The left is pinging login.uoforever.com and the right is pinging www.google.com. they are running simultaneously.

Here is in game. Good ping with blurps as seen in the above command line ping.

*Also as a side note, I am not receiving any disconnects from the shard, only the lag spikes. The lower quality connection of the hotel with the lag spikes were probably the culprit there -- that does mean that it is possible to occur for others with lower connections (we called them HPBs if ya remember from early OSI).
