invisible houses

I'm using the UOF launcher and classic uo client (whatever the UOF install walks you through) I don't have any outstanding updates but some houses are invisible using razor and uosteam (I use uosteam)

When I tried sallos, the invisible house was visible.

I re-installed three times already, fixing various graphics/client crashing issues.. I'd really like to not do the multi-hour procedure again.

Clearly I'm missing some kind of graphic support UOF requires. Anyone have a good fix for me?

Seriously? There's not just a file I can download to fix this? I can't imagine it's more complicated than that.

I've reloaded the whole thing a couple of times to eliminate this kind of thing and I've heard of others experiencing invisible house models too.

I understand this is a freeshard and you guys don't have a multimillion development and support budget.. so please dont' take this as bitching and moaning. Just wondering if there is a subset of files that could be downloaded and overlayed that might eliminate some of these instances. If not.. I can live with a few invisible houses.

I'm wondering honestly what the difference between your client and my client is. I run Steam and Razor and have absolutely 0 issues with any houses. Haven't tried Sallos, but I have installed via the launcher on multiple machines and have 0 issues. Interesting indeed...

no clue.. I followed the UOF installation process as literally as possible. On retrys, I removed the UO directories completely before installing. I'm a career unix/linux admin so my generic assessment is that it's typical mickysoft flaky BS... but perhaps a file was corrupted somehow that selectively makes some houses invisible, but not the deco.

ah well.

Did you find the hidden UO files that get placed on your hard drive? Think they are the config files and are stored within your profile. Might have to do a search for %UO% and see what come up, you may have missed a file during deletion.

I don't think I did. If that's the case and a re-install is in order.. I'll probably just wait for something catastrophic to happen, forcing a reload.

thank you for the responses!
