How to take a screenshot on mac?

I'm running UO on windows through bootcamp. I have a standard wireless mac keyboard without print screen key. I know how to print screen using mac functions but they are not working on bootcamp. Does anyone know how to take a screenshot in windows 8 without having the print screen key?

Try typing "snipping tool" in your start menu search box.

In today's day and age, you really shouldn't be taking screen shots with the print screen button.

I have a macbook pro ( LOVE IT ) and have used it in the past to run UO (for years actually) among other things...

You have two choices;

Command + Shift + 3 = Full Screen Shot.
Command + Shift + 4 = Lets you click and drag to capture a small area, basically like the snipping tool but FAR better.

Both of these methods should automatically save the image file to your desktop.
Mac has no 'snipping tool' so searching that will bring absolutely nothing up.

Why didn't you set up UO via wine? I found it relatively easy and actually it ran just as good as windows.
(There is a guide on these forums somewhere actually)

Plus its free!!!!

I like to save money.

He said he is having troubles in bootcamp with windows 8 because his keyboard does not have a printsc key. He is not in MacOS mode to use the Mac keyboard commands.

I will try the snipping tool.

Command + shift + 3 does not work in bootcamp because I am essentially running windows.

I tried wine before I went the bootcamp route and wine was way too slow for me and I had a lot of lag with my mouse. Bootcamp is great. I haven't had any issues so far with it. It's basically like I turned my mac into a PC which can be good and bad. Although I must say that windows 8 sucks!

Interesting, I bet you absolutely loved jumping on that quote opportunity halygon.

anyways, bootcamp should impose absolutely no difference from windows 8 native...
as far as without a print screen key... use the snipping tool.

When I used bootcamp on my mac, it was really strange. In fact, my fan instantly turned on anytime I would boot windows. I could start up something relatively basic and instantly it's like I was using Logic Studio. I hated it for this reason, as well as exposing my sweet mac to yucky windows vulnerabilities.

It's unfortunate you get lag with wine, I haven't experienced this myself.

parallels 9 is nice to play on teamspeak/vent on the mac side with windows switching back and forth with f6 and you have all your music and mac stuff to use as well

I haven't tried parallels. The music part would be nice. I have a 10k music library on my mac side that I can't use BUT I finally figured out how to run Soundcloud through my sonos setup so it's all good now.
