How high will taming large hellcats take me?

At 102.8 now and they tame in a few tries and still gain some but gains are fading .

I'd say to 103. Then when you reach 103, start grinding and buy your way to whatever you want to achieve.
At higher lvl it's almost just as time efficient to grind gold as it is to tame.

Large hellcats are MUCH harder than hell hounds.

I got to 115 on large hellcats, gaining 1.0 per hour on average

God dammit I did it again... I never wanna put hounds between large and small cats.

103 is still a good number to move on to imps though. Only do large cats sparingly over 100, ideally you should quit taming things at 10-12 pts above taming requirement if you don't want to one-shot damn near everything you attempt. Success gains are better than fail gains but you'll run out of spawn quickly if you rip through shit 20 pts below req.

Get too high though and you don't have much choice...unless you really like dragons and wyrms, that is.

Started gaining off imps in early 90s. Guess they are wrth a try. Don't know of a steady spawn tho.

Fire, Del Passage, the new dungeons. Few in Hythloth but a lotta trash spawn around them.

Not sure about the asylum imps I think @Ariakan tried them

115 taming have cone way down. 175k or so.
