How do I buy a placed house and not get scammed?

I am a new player and I am interested in buying a placed house. I know this is a perfect opportunity to get trolled but I need some serious advice. How do I buy a house that's placed from someone and make sure that the transaction doesn't open me up to getting screwed (ie the check stolen from me or something).

Are there systems in place to make the transaction secure?

Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

Checks are blessed, so as long as you keep your check in your inventory (not in a bag in your inventory). you should be fine. As far as the house goes, you and the other person have to be like... 1 tile away from the house-sign inorder for him to transfer ownership. What should show up in your trade window is a neon blue scroll

Put the check in a small pouch and cast magic trap on it. The pouch will turn red meaning no one can open it and your check will be safe. Do this then pm me and ill come make sure you've done it correctly. :)
