"2x hay - 50ea" -> 50k each. It is a low end rare worth roughly 50k per and he has 2 of them for sale.

It is largely self-explanatory given the market price and what was written in the offer. Hampton was a bit lazy in that this rare is called "scattered hay," but the difference between what a sheaf of hay and the rare scattered hay is worth is notable. People collecting rares realize/know that, hence why I commented to help you out in making the distinction.

I have only been playing UO for about 2.5 months and have realized that in this game it is very important to know what item you are buying and how much you are expected to pay because there are many opportunities to make a mistake that can't be undone!

On that note though, "Damaged Books" not "Ruined Books." Ruined is used for the bookcase.

i agree. you definitely need to do your research before making any purchases, especially from vendors.
i usually sell all items cheaper than market price, unless stated differently. if you dont find my items for sale here, i have a vendor that also sells things pretty cheap. these rares, for example, were priced by trixa about a week ago. i discounted them down from that.
