horrible choices

Moderators have very little power other than in Discord. They aren't in staff meetings. EQMS is a large guild. It's bound to happen. But just about every large guild is represented either on staff or people who are moderators. But either way, moderators have no power in game. Discord moderators have no power on the forums (unless they happen to be both).

This.
People think bringing on a staff member means they see personal staff messages, have super GM powers etc.
This is false.
No one will ever be made a GM ever again on UOForever because it's not needed. The MOST powers people will have is the ability to create battle events (CTF's etc) and invasions in which they must be approved by a higher staff member first.

Other than that they can't see who's online, can't teleport, can't do a single thing but answer pages.
We shouldn't have to explain this because by now most of you (and i know most of you do) should trust our decisions.

If you do not trust the personal staff choices me and my team make, which are the exact same choices we've consistently made over the last 4 years which resulting in getting us here today so you could make this ridiculous post- You can just log off, and never, ever come back to UOForever.
It's nothing personal, we just don't need to be told how to run things from a player who is basing their entire opinion from their own personal in game point of view while being completely ignorant to every single other fact.....

When i pick staff, i'm not going to lie.... i never even give a shit what guild they are in what so ever.
I see all of you as a name and an individual. I do not relate each person to what guild they are in, and thank goodness i don't.
We wouldn't have the incredible staff we have on this day if i did do that.

The people who are trying to speak out here on who we hire are going off of their personal in game experiences with that person or the guild that the person is in. The reality is none of that even matters, and i don't give a shit about it. I care about what positive things they can do for Ultima Online Forever's community and its longevity. I really don't give a shit what dramatics happen in game, if they have pk'd tons of newbies, or if they are in a zerg guild that isn't liked....
What DOES matter is that i believe they can contribute to making this community a better place in the long run for not only the same people complaining about this, but everyone as a whole.

I should add this hasn't even been stated fully yet, and it's interesting how rumors and crap get spread so quickly which ultimately should tell you all to be aware of the echo chamber that can happen within this community from time to time.
this is humors to me shane, as you removed me as a companion for a totally harmless troll. (i was taming and releasing dragons on the docks named silly things, they couldn't hurt anyone). you even went to the extent of ranting at me for 30 min about how perception is important, and now you wanna say it doesnt matter what the people of UOF think of someone so long as they can contribute? also, i will point out that i have contributed tons to UOF, and its new players, even without being a companion.

no offence Shane but you are totally out of touch with what any players on UOF not in EQMS or Werkt are thinking. let me explain why, on staff you have you, Adam and Joeb, who dont play. you have Eppy who doesnt play much. but when he does he plays solo. you have 2 EQMS players, and you have 2 Werkt members. so when it comes to people who actually play the game you have 4 people total 2 EQMS and 2 Werkt. is it any wonder that what you think the server needs seems to align with what these 2 guilds want?

I applaud your desire to defend your staff, but the truth is they are not as honest and trustworthy as you make them out to be. they are players with friends and connections and they will try to help their friends when they can. if you want to turn a blind eye to it that is your choice, just don't be shocked when players call you out on it.

anyways, you are going to do what you want, and anyone who hasn't figured that out yet will soon.

Anyone who has a personal issue with this can PM me directly.
Without including random in game scenarios/situations based off your own game play and keeping in mind that choices are NOT made based on in game situations but as a business for the longevity of the community- you are welcome to explain to me why you are not happy if this change was to be made.

Thank you.
