Honest, kinda laughable question.

Because of life crap, I have very little time to play. I enjoy crafting quite a bit, but what I love the most is PVM, I just love dungeons and getting better gear in UO. Ok, I'll get right to the point.

1. Is there some Trammel like zone (maybe a PK free zone? ) in UO forever? If the answer is no..
2. Is there a cheap build that is easy/cheap to re equip in case of getting killed and it's also good for pvm?

I know that a big part of UO is that risk/reward thing. You risk gear, and hopefully overcome your enemy and get bigger rewards. If this kind of chilled gameplay is not possible here i'll just be on my way ^^

Thanks!!

Edit: Nevermind.... just found this thread http://www.uoforum.com/threads/uo-forever-the-pure-pk-server.72089/ =(

Any provo char is cheap and can farm most of the good stuff...also a dexxer can farm very well with the right weapon(which will still only cost you about 1 farm run worth of gold).

So there will not be any PK free zones, however PVP makes up a fairly small part of UOF. Most players log on to PVM because the PVM mechanics and expansions on UOF are pretty damn sweet.

As far as your question goes (#2) - any Mage build will be pretty cheap to run but won't be nearly as effective as a dexxor. I think the cheapest and best PVM template is probably the provo archer. You really don't need to wear any armor and you can use GM made bows. You can run that build until you have enough cash to move up to a tamer, which is fairly costly to build, but is ultimately the biggest cash cow in the game for PVM.

Here is the build for Provo Archer: https://web.archive.org/web/20140630210316/http://uoforum.com/wiki/the-provo-archer/

Mage-Med-hiding-stealth-lockpicking-music-provo... take this build head to Khaldun and Destard it wont be trammel but while hidden and able to walk away from pks that show up most of the time you can make lots of gold

Thanks for the replies, things were looking pretty grim wondering through the forums! I think i´ll go with the Archer provo build. Once I got the char ready i´ll research good "begginers" spots to farm. Thanks again!

Hortef pm me and I'll help you out with some stuff to get you on your feet a bit. And ignore the negativity in some other threads. Don't let it dissuade you from trying things out--this shard has a wonderful blending of both PvM and PvP aspects and a really great community here.

You might enjoy treasure hunting or fishing up MiB's. Good way to make gold without getting zerged all the time.

120 provo
120 peace
100 music
100 archery
100 tactics
100 anatomy
80 healing

I can go anywhere in my birthday suit and a newbie instrument and farm like crazy then when EQMS shows up I hit my recall macro and get away 80% of the time. Seriously considering dropping archery and tactics for hiding and stealth and rolling with newbie bandages so EQMS will get nothing from me if I die and I can get right back into action after a rezz.

EDIT: so the new template will look like this.. The peacemaking is for the last MOB while you loot

120 provo
120 peace
100 music
100 healing
100 anatomy
100 hiding
80 stealth

Provo archer for the win.

115 provo
gm music
archery
tacs
magery

With the last points you can split resist, meditation, and anatomy up however you see fit. I ran a couple of different templates when I was first starting out.

With this you can make a fisherman, you can join factions and farm silver, and with a slayer you can quickly and efficiently farm pretty much any mob in the game provided there are things to provo the mobs on. If you're going high end mobs and you see a paragon and a normal, provo them and recall out. If you get pk'd, have a toon on standby with a spare set of farming books to gate you out. Buy a ring of forgiveness. You're gold.

Unless they turned them back on, there is no such thing as newbie blessed bandages anymore since "Tissues For Your Issues" were getting duped and people had 1000s of blessed bandages. Turning off the blessed status for those also did so for newbie bandies.

Damn I saved like 200 of them from when I first started here to use on a thief char, but later changed the template so I didn't need them anymore...guess I can trash them now. What's tissues for your issues?

They were a handout given to everyone after a big DDOS attack or I think the failed Halloween event. I can't remember. they were basically blessed bandages but had a easy duping bug that got out of hand and they made them all unblessed.
