Getting rid of empty plots suggestion #573

The longer you have customizations on your plot and the value of those customizations determines the refund you get when you demolish the plot.

That would mean
  • No refunds for plots that have always been bare.
  • The more likely it is that you actually used your house the more money you get back when you demolish the plot.
  • Just grabbing up space for the sake of holding it would be expensive.

Called a GM on the empty dirt plot next to me that I've been looking at for 2 years. GM said he was still active and logged on yesterday.

I can't think of a smart way to implement it but I wish I could leave a message for this person to buy their plot. Some kind of feature like that would be great but it feels pretty anti-UO.

Aren't there decorative mail-boxes available for houses? Maybe those could be made to accept messages.

I say if you're a GM Camper/Beggar you should be able to erect a tent on an unimproved plot, at which point after a week you can get "Squatters Rights" and open up your very own methlab. Of course if the owner shows up he could always evict you, but if not... hey, lets make begging do something!
