So far I've gotten 5 galleon recipes and 5 barnacle ingots. The drop rate on the recipes could be the same as the ingots, but the recipes are a one time use and then your carpenter can make an unlimited amount of these ships so long as you have the parts.
I think the ingots are worth more, but the recipes are also a low drop that not everyone wants to invest time and risk into getting. They were going for a lot at the start, but now I really do think the price should drop quite a bit. A recipe for the largest galleon may be a different story.
