Why would refreshing your house that you own be an asshole move?

Also i just want to call bs on time for it. Even the president of the usa could waste 15 secs to refresh a house. No one...and i mean no one is too busy to waste 15 secs. Especially since you obviously have time to wsste since your wasting hours here.

There's a difference, I'm at work now and only been posting from work. I can't play at work. I don't have the client installed nor won't I install it again. Also, I think any staff could confirm that I havn't logged in since the 29/1.

This is something I don't get at this shard. Telling everyone IDOC locations. IDOC locations, which have rares and loads of expensive stuff..

At this case I understand that you have quit the game and told the IDOC location generously, but at most of the cases people unveil these locations to everyone (at IRC channel for example) maybe just to provoke world PvP, or just "not caring about the pixels". That's really ********. Or that you get money too easily here. Unfortunately here money goes to rich people and as a new player its such difficult to get millions, so unveiling IDOC locations sounds gormless and not equal at all.

If I ever found IDOC and it had rares in there, I'd keep it as my secret, or a secret inside my guild. And if I ever had a house collapsing down, I'd leave it there and not post anything here. Just letting some random players find it.

I get your point. Thing is, the more random people who show up, the harder it will be for one guild to control the IDOC. And if several smaller groups show up, it will also be harder for just one group of players to control the IDOC. The more people know of the location and time the more people will show up. Having a macro or scavenger agent set to certain items arn't that hard and I don't know how many IDOC's I've stealthed and gotten good stuff from playing solo as I mostly have done from 1997-2013. This way, everyone has a (maybe not fair) chance to get something from my stuff!

Flawed logic. You'd rather only a couple people know about it because that shares the wealth around? I'm a new player to this shard, had no idea about it so now i'm going to try get some items.

Letting people know about it shares the wealth in my opinion.

That works in some cases, but not at this. If you receive a chance to become rich, would you share it with a bunch of random people in order to get your chance of becoming rich decreased? And chances to get yourself killed and not getting anything from this gold spot, increased.

I would not.

The equality in this case is in my opinion the chance of finding IDOC location. You are free to travel this world and have chances of finding that location just like everyone else. If you find the location, the gold might be yours if others can not find it. If you share it, you will lose.

I hope you manage to get some! :)

I could just have given my stuff to some random dude at the bank or a friend. This way, everyone gets a chance of getting something.

Problem is, most worthwhile IDOC's are known by the big guilds on this server anyway. He is making this forum post so that everyone has a chance - the more people there are present, the harder it is for one guild to take full control.

That being said, a lot of people look forward to the PvP battles that come with a good IDOC.

It's also fair that, when you start playing UO, you will receive chance to join into guilds. Everyone has a chance to become better at this game and that way get better chances getting IDOC golds. I'd prefer keeping the locations inside guilds, or other people, who know those locations. Not everyone have to know them.

Imagine owning million dollars and then thinking that its not fair owning that sum of money only by yourself. Better sharing it.

Don't get me wrong. Provoking world PvP and battles between guilds are good thing, but somewhere has to be the limit.

If you think that its unfair only big guilds knowing these locations, thats just being too noob and bitterness towards those players. They have done the thing properly for finding that location. Sharing it to other people will only give those people shortcuts to better money.

A big guild is gonna take this IDOC. They have there noobie chars camp out on a macro that clicks the sign then when it goes IDOC it will spam in Guild Message: This house is IDOC. The whole guild has the exact same time and they don't bother trying to have fun and fight there for it. They will gate at literally a minute before it falls with 25 + people in and take the whole IDOC in 5min! I hope you know alot of people in (!) because they usally the ones that get.

I don't understand why you would IDOC that pretty house anyways? Why don't you give it out to one of your friends that still play or find someone worth keeping it up and keeping the memory alive. I like the IDEA of it being a IDOC but these big guilds you got no chance. At least if you did IDOC, you can do it yourself, drop it on purpose and let other people get a chance not people that have a macro set on a greater, getting clicked over and over waiting for IDOC.

Some great information there! Wouldn't have guessed this to be that automatic.

I checked this spot and it only had one player hiding there. Looked like a newbie character, who had a house placement tool in backpack. Looked also like he was not involved with any guild (maybe didnt have Show Guild Title checked). Killed him once and then he just returned in the same spot. If you want to go interrupt him, go for it. :)

Ok there was about 5 people hiding now and some PK got there killing them. :) Looks like its slowly getting popular.

I support your idea to release IDOC info. It's a nice gesture for everyone, instead of only a handful of 1337 tools knowing and hoarding it all for themselves.

I wish this happen more, instead of the secretive bullshit.

If you put in effort to running around like most do, you'd know the locations and times yourself. That "secretive bullshit" is protecting their investment of time/effort. I'd rather they had secretive bullshit, than your lazy-ass-gimme-shit-on-a-platter bullshit.

I've been around UO long enough to know better than to expect ANYTHING to be given to me on a platter. Not only that, but I will never attempt to go to an IDOC even if I DID know of one, unless i was rolling with 10 people and shit.

I said I supported the idea. If i really wanted to invest on finding IDOCS I would and could, I should have emphasized on hoarding more than the tool comment.

I totally agree with you. You just wrapped my thoughts in a nice packet.

That attitude being careless about this game is really pathetic. Even as for playing this game long as you have played, you should have respect for people having true motivation for it. This meaning people, who know IDOC locations. Sharing them with a bunch of random people is just so wrong.

Sadly its gone! RIP pirate house

And sadly I had to be at work, when everyone looted it lol.

After checking it out the 18x18 spot was filled up with about five 7x7 spots and there was still about 30 ppl running.

Maybe someone got screenshots of the event and can add them here.

This IDOC was great. The house actually fell twice. I had a lot of fun the first time and I got some good loot. Too bad I wasn't there for drop #2 to actually be able to keep the items I looted . Ahh well...
