Feeling stupid, how do i PM someone?

Only started 3 days ago after 10 years of hiatus from UO and loving the server, 3 times gm on my dexer/bard already but i can not - for the life of me - figure out how to PM/whisper to a single other player. i have tried [playername which i believe was the command back on osi, but it does not work. Google is less than helpful. Can someone help me please?

Only way to message someone directly is through forums/irc as far as I know. It has been suggested to implement [playername or something like it but hasn't been done yet.

Thanks! Is the UOF IRC used much? despite being an "early internet kid" having had access since 96, i completely skipped on irc, never used it, actually thought it was dead by now

I know that's what I expected but the UOF irc channel can be pretty active at times. Right now it will be kinda dead but peak times it is pretty hoppin' and a great way to get questions answered and conduct b/s/t. Or if you're in POWER or $ a great way to call in a bunch of random blues to a champ spawn you're doing that's getting raided.

thats just hilarious dude..... idk what your gettin at but, your guild has never raided a champ spawn if thats where you were going with this...

OR

we publicly announce to people to assist with reds at a champ spawn when we only have 2-3 on, the only 2 people I would really say is worth a damn in your whole guild when it comes to pvp is randal and bradley, thats it! if you want to try to make me believe any different... please accept a 3vs3 or 4vs4 from us ANYtime please be involved to include your big mouth as well as beautiful life, get your buddy meridian blade so he can carry you

It would be nice if the Staff could implement a message system. If somebody WON'T receive any msg he can always turn it off.

That'd be a great improvement to make more friends and keep growing your playerbase.

New players without friends have this problem.
