The truth of the matter is that that MMORPG is an item based one and to be honest, the auctioning system sucks on there. It is a generic auctioning system that takes the salesmanship and personality (the player) out of the whole system. As a buyer, there really is no chance that I would ever find a deal of a sale on there, nor as a seller ever be able to raise my rates and expect to sell anything. For example, a prominent vendor house now can probably charge higher rates and get away with it because they are in a good location and people are too lazy to find other vendors selling the same thing. Those vendor houses probably found a strategic location or advertised properly to get their customers. A global auction system defeats that whole interaction purpose. Interactions like that is the basis of UO.The biggest MMORPG in the world used "a centralized auctioning system" just saying. Lets be honest here @halygon... our current ##$*# up form system is also hurting the economy. There are so many alt account fake auction / bids you can't tell what is real any more. It's so bad you even have players trying to control the donation coin value by posting fake buying posts in attempts to drive the price down.
I'll add I don't have the answer... but surely there has to be something better then this?
That said, I think this is completely off topic. The actual issue here is accountability for posts made on an auction forum. Proposing in-game connections or in-game auctioning systems will not fix this issue.
