Everyone saying metas are overpriced....

I just farmed for exactly 60 minutes from 7:08 pm to 8:08 pm GMT+1 using a lvl 7 meta with lvl 10 QS, molten, nox and lvl 7 blood.
I was using a nightdragon that i'm training as a second pet. it has 71 magery , 75 anatomy and 93 eval, meaning a 7x mare would dish out way more damage.

These are the results:

106k gold

1x tinkering ss
1x archery ss
1x provo ss
2x stealing ss
1x swords ss
1x parrying ss
2 glowing runes

I gotta say i was really unlucky with the SS this time, i usually find at least 1 or 2 "good" ones like magery, resist, blacksmith or those in the 8-12k each range. These were all pretty bad except the provo +1.
found zero t-maps which is also uncommon and not a single paragon chest from 4 paragons killed.

Overall this amounts to about 120k, and again, it was a bad day. I could easily see myself doing 150k. Also keep in mind bloody relic still isn't lvl 10 and a WW would have given me much more DPS than a half assed untrained night dragon.

All the farming was done in shame 4 and 5, fire 1 and 2 and despise 2.

Now, I don't farm/play much, but someone who can spend 3-4h farming every day (which will also get you 2-3 taming ss a week, pretty much guaranteed) could make the 30m it takes to buy such a pet back in 1.5 months.


TL;DR: no, metas are not overpriced

I can make around 100k/hr farming khaludun with my hide/Provo mage, no talisman or anything (haven't farmed in ages but that was what I used to pull in regularly)

not counting drops

tamers are gay imo

I have a 120 provo mage, mobs in khakdun don't damage themselves fast enough to make that kind of money.

Source: i Made all the money to buy meta and relics by farming with my provo mage. You won't make more than 60k An hour.

What I've never understood about this game is what people farm over and over for? Often it's to get items and pets to farm more? But then what?

I suppose it's why I've never had a a tamer and never play my provo

People farm to farm. For some its the gold needed for houses - trammy eye candy - or relics for there meta pet/dex/mage etc.
Being rich enough to fill a house with statues just because you can... priceless.

The wonderful thing about UO - you can waste your time doing whatever crazy cockamamie idea enters your head. And spend all that pixilated gold on it.

but yeahh in all honesty the only downside to khaldun is having to leave frequently to drop off the insane amount of gold you make in there.

and tamers are gay af

also, you are using the wrong template.

i use a provo macer. the dps is enormous

I agree with pretty much this whole statement. But these is no way in hell I can get 2-3 taming ss a week. Maybe what I'm farming just has a low drop rate.

Well it depends on luck obviously, but if you farm 4 Hours a day you're pretty much guaranteed 1 or probably 2 a week.

I collected like 11 going from lvl 5 meta to lvl 7 meta

ive got 2.1 in 3 yrs ive been here...3.1 if u count the one i FOUND on a shadow wyrm that nobody looted

but it really all depends on what u farm. sometimes i stick to the lower level stuff just to avoid getting pked

No, his memory isn't bad. You just can't farm correctly apparently. Yes, you can make 100k per hour in Khaldun because I used to do it all the time too.

Yes the Taming SS quote seems like a stretch. I've gone weeks without getting a taming SS farming nothing but top tier mobs for 2-3 hours per day.

I've been playing here 1 and 1/2 year and i got close to 20. And i don't even farm much.

The key is farming the right stuff. I do shame 5 elementals (found many on toxic, once on toxic air, a bunch on greater bloods), Shame 4 bloods (found 3 there), Titans (i once found 2 taming SS in a single Titan in despise lol) and evil mage lords (meta kills them in 1.5 seconds and they drop mad scrolls).

My general rule is: if they don't have a good SS drop rate, i won't farm it.

NOT with a provo mage with hiding lol!!!

I can believe it's possible with a provo macer (although respawn probably isn't fast enough, but whatever), but definitely impossible with provo mage. It just doesn't have the DPS to do it. I can bet on this.

Yes, I was provo hide which is the perfect build for khaldun. You should not have less than 5 mobs attacking eachother at once in khaldun, and that should get you your 100k per hour.

Note: It's been probably a year since i've been in Khaldun so things may have changed. I'm not the end all authority on Khaldun or anything =).
