Ethy Nightmare

Pretty much this. ^ If a monster of a mount like a nightmare comes in a ethy color -- yes this is pretty damn cool - but also, you would not be able to tell if someone was a PvP tamer or not. Nightmare colored war horses or ethys already grind on this logic but at least with them, you can be prepared in advance IF they happen to turn out to be a PvP tamer.

Essentially, having an ethy colored nightmare would allow a tamer to have a "sleeper" pet that people do not even know about until they see "All Guard".

so the non pkers have nothing to fight back against when 80% of the server wants to pk you? we cant have anything to fight back or make the person think twice about pking us? maybe this is a super good idea that everyone thinks they are on a nightmare!! this could bring in a whole new aspect of gaming!!! instead of dying to 10 people with ebolts precasted, maybe my pet can take down 1 pk now!!!!!

Non-pkers have nothing to fight back against? If they are a tamer, they can have a real nightmare or even a meta-steed. They could also have a number of the night-whever type mounts out there. Your pet can maybe take down a PK anyways.

The real point you are trying to make is that you like the ethy color and don't mind not knowing if your enemy "might" be on a mare or if it is an ethy. From experience, I don't believe it will change a PKs mind in any way if a person "might" have a nightmare - they will still PK or attempt to PK you anyways.

I was just pointing out the issues that could arise from this to contribute to the conversation.

I like the idea of all tamables having a chance to spawn in the ethy hue. Actually the only one that really concerns me is the nightmare because it would look like a regular ethy horse. Then a tamer has the advantage of looking like a regular mage. You won't know if you're up against a tamer or a stun mage or whatever. Tamers are already powerful enough without deception. I would say yes to this if the nightmare hue could be noticeably distinguished from an ethy horse (maybe a bigger size or something).
