Dragon stats ok?

I'm new to taming and tamed my first dragon last night. Stats are:
Hits - 797
Strength - 821
Dex - 87
Int - 469
Not sure what ideal stats are but is this dragon worth keeping?

Str is 4 less than max and int is 6 less. Dragon is pretty good then right? Or is it easier to find better ones? Also how many dragons can I stable at a time? Thanks for the reply btw

5/6/7 pets in stable depending on skills...his firebreath will be a little weak with the low hits..up to you but most want around 820/820/460 for well rounded pet

You can go crazy looking for a perfect specimen but realistically it doesn't always make a difference. STR and INT impact your pet's power every 10 full points. There isn't a difference in power between a dragon with 820 STR and 825 STR. STR does not impact HP on a dragon.

The INT is 1 point below the highest possible impact point. His spells will do a little bit less damage. The STR is beyond the max possible impact point so the melee damage will be max possible. INT and STR impact damage every 10 points rounded down.

HP is what determines the power of fire breath. The total variance of HP on a dragon is only 17. I believe the firebreath calculation is current HP * .16 which translates into a loss of 6 dmg on your firebreath if you get a MIN HP pet vs a MAX HP pet. I'm not certain that equation is accurate... it's an equation I was able to find.

So much misinformation in this thread

first off stable slots work as follows.

2 basic slots
2 slots for GM Taming\Lore\Vet

so a GM taming\lore\Vet tamer has 8 stable slots

you gain an additional 1 slot for every 10 points in those skills.

making the max stable slots 12 at 120 Taming and Lore (would be 14 but there are no Vet PSs)

second is this frequent misconception that Fire breath damage is based of the Max HP of your dragon. the Max HP does not affect the damage of the fire breath attack. fire breath is 40 (with the occasional 41) and is based of the percentage of remaining life. the formula looks something like this.

Current HP/Max HP *40

not positive but i think most of this is incorrect as well.

damage calculation for player str are (Str*0.3) * Weapon damage i have never heard of str stat being tiered like dex stat. (players receive a bonus for 100+ str, but i don't think pets do)

Also as far as i know int only affects a select few spells. the rest do not receive damage bonuses from int. Int for pets primarily just increases Mana.

all that said finding a (820\820\460) dragon is pretty possible.

GL sir.

Sorry wasn't trying to be a jerk to you, i just see all these misconceptions all over the place and decided to try and set some records strait.

of course give it a week and someone else will be talking about how their dragon has max FB damage... *sighs*

I don't know where I got that information but I double checked my spreadsheet to calculate pet dmg (from back in the day) and you're right.

It's been a long time since I played UO and I don't have the equations memorized anymore. It looks like I found a bad wiki page somewhere.

Edit:
It should be noted that players get a +5 on their STR bonus if they have > 100 STR. I don't know if pets do too, but all pets can train to 125 str so your STR bonus is probably (STR * .3) + 5

Regardless of all this, my point is still relevant. The overall improvement in dmg for those rare last few points of stat is miniscule relative to the total damage. I don't think it's worth worrying about. The one exception to this is if you're running a pack of 5 because any swing in dmg is multiplied by 5.
