Thank you for your input!
Thank you for the awesome server!

i think the forums should stay as they are, there is alot of helpful information here. ranging from macro and how to guides to skill training guides and buy sell trades.
i think just because you dont see people posting as much anymore doesnt mean they stopped using the forums. i think people still look up helpful information that discord doesnt have.
please leave the forums as is
Well put, I agree.

Aye if anything i'd rather see the forums reinforced. Being able to link forum posts in discord is great, yet I feel that fewer people click on them than I think are going to when I post it. I fear this may just be the way the net is changing too, so maybe the biggest benefit of the awareness in it is.. brace or embrace? Heh. Unless there's a way to marry the two and make one spouse (disco) able to be swapped with whatever comes next as IRC/ICQ/Skype/Etc was before it.

The world is changing - social media is changing it, faster response times, easier conversation, in some cases it's great, in others it's a pain.. Three ideas that may/may not help...

1) Buy/Sell - make people post in the forums - allow them to link to posts only in the forums.. They can put their discord name in the forum, they can still communicate in discord, but by allowing them to post buy/sell lists directly in discord, it causes spam, knocking posts down the screen, in the forums, they get to post once, and update that post, or close it. This really helps for establishing pricing, as finding threads to specific items is easier in the forums, rather than dredging through people's spam in discord.

2) Suggestions/Ideas - I appreciate the brainstorming nature of being in discord, and real time, but that channel is really a disaster. Not everyone follows it 24/7, so you really don't have a chance to post opinions, and get a general feel for an idea. I'd force suggestions/ideas to the forums, make people talk in the forum, so all can read on any given idea. you get 5-6 threads going in discord, all of it just gets lost. Again if you want to post a link to your idea in discord, leave the channel open for that, so you can garner attention. But this conversation happening in discord is next to useless. Also - enforce polls on the Suggestions/Ideas, so you can get a general feel of the populace.

3) Find some way to advertise discord numbers on the main page of uoforever and/or on the forums. Make sure you are advertising the popularity, so that the lack of popularity in the forums is mitigated.

That's my two cents.. I have no idea what the exchange rate on my two cents is these days! :)

And for the love of god.. Or whoever you love... Post changes to the game in the forums somewhere.. Apparently we now have mobs that spawn at idocs, the weight of blank scrolls and ingots has changed.. You don't even know what game you are playing if you aren't aware of the changes when they happen, and we all can't read discord 24/7 to find a change every few days that's happened.

I'm talking about before those changes turn into patch notes, finding out a month later really sucks..

What do you guys think we should look at keeping just to the forums? I was thinking the buy-sell but that might piss some people off.
IMO the buy/sell should definitely stay in Discord but also exist here on the forums. Sometimes it's much easier for people to just post a quick sale in Discord vs. posting it on the forums, then having to coordinate meeting up in-game to do an exchange. It takes time and in my experience makes it frustrating when a buyer doesn't respond. Discord gets immediate replies and immediate meet-ups to do trades, etc., which keeps people online and happy.

I would move the Suggestions & Ideas and Announcements channels to only the forums. Suggestions & Ideas get buried in Discord too easily and there's no real record of ideas that may have been posted and forgotten or missed. On the forums, ideas stay and can be discussed in an open forum format. Also, Announcements alone would draw a lot of people to the forums. Reading about patch notes, updates, additions, etc. on the forums exclusively lets people get updates any time, not just when they're posted to Discord.

Lol add a chat room to forums and watch everyone flood back to them instead of having disco open and choosing between the two. Although I'm a huge fan of using disco on my phone since i dunno how a chat room would be or if it could be used on the phone.
