Disable Action Camera By Default!

Seriously. New players here, even UO vets, aren't going to realize there location is being given out with a half hour delay.

No wonder there is so much new player killing. New player has Action Camera enabled. Hunts a given area for over half hour, and PK watches stream and hits up areas he sees people grinding in.

I was joking about giving PKs GPS on new players. I didn't realize this shard does just that in an indirect fashion.

There's no reason this should be enabled by default. If experienced players on the shard want to enable it, that's fine. But I don't think new players should be opt-in and I think some sort of warning should accompany enabling it so players are aware of what this thing does. I certainly wasn't until I stumbled across the stream.

No wonder I've had people show up roughly half hour into my grinding....

When i stumbled across the stream there were 10 viewers.

Out of curiosity for delay i went to locations of people. Over half the time i found people in the same spot or close enough to find easily.

We are talking about opt-out for new players. They don't kill shit fast. A lot of them run around without recall/gate.

There is absolutely no reason to opt-in new players.

This suggestion is a no brainer. There is absolutely no valid point for leaving this opt-in. And you've shown that by saying nothing relevant.

At the very least when a new player first logs in it should ask them.

I bet your one of the shit players that uses it and you dont want your pk gps taken away.

Honestly I can't comment on how big of a problem it is, but I will tell everyone this. As soon as I disabled this thing suddenly I feel like their aren't as many PKs on this shard.

And I'm sure there are countless new players that have quit this shard that aren't as experienced with UO as I am nor as accepting of losses in this game (e.g. One time I had a house stolen from me in OSI. Dude sacked my first small house. Guess what? I kept playing! Most people on this shard would cry/sucide irl/quit the game if their house got sacked and they lost everything including the house. This was before any type of house security when the key was the only security you had beyond courtyarding your house entrance and hoping no one had a rune marked inside your courtyard.)

Before I realized what was going on: PKs magically found me even in the most random ass spots where I never see anyone about every 30 minutes to an hour. Mind you this was when I just started up on the shard and was just trying to earn some gold to build up a PvP character. Fortunately for me, the PKs (Likely the ones stream sniping) were so terrible at this game they never managed to kill me even once. At one point I was running around with a Kyrss (Regular) + 30 bandages naked with 0 resist and a Red PK para/dumped me and still failed to kill me. I was laughing so hard that I almost forgot to escape. They had a better chance of killing me through laughter.

Honestly it's not just the PKs crying around here. I feel sorry for the staff members.

You have PvMers crying about being PKed.

You have PvPers crying about lack of action and any possible changes to PvP.

It's to the point where any PvP related comment gets associated with trammie PvMers.
