Champion Spawns... This is a very heated topic with a lot of ideas and suggestions being thrown around lately... and it involves a lot of pros and cons with changes that people like or dislike. From the staff's point of view though I am sure that it is not easy to make changes that satisfy both the PVMERs wants and PVPERs wants .... Some ideas I was kicking around are as follow -
1) Faction Power Scroll - I don't think it's worth it to have a devoted power scroll for factioneers. A lot of people that go to champ spawns on faction chars don't even faction often. Its also kind of lame for someone to be able to log on a faction char - kill a few spawn... and be able to get a scroll with less than a 100 score if there are no other faction chars there.
2) Minimum score - I know the way scrolls/rares/relics are given out is fairly random to an extent. I am fine with that... but what about changing it around so players need a "minimum" score to be eligible? It doesn't have to be 15K +.. even if it's only 10k.
-- If this were implemented - it would make guilds like POWER and $$ have to put in a little bit of effort... and would not allow them to come in with 10 fully stocked reds at the end.. while the 10-15 random blues (usually) have low stock, dead pets, and some dead friends.. and for them to be able to pick everyone off - lure the boss to the other side of the dungeon... and kill the boss and get all the drops within a matter of 5 minutes max.
-- I think this would encourage PVP maybe a bit too. it would give the blues/other guilds "time" to restock - and try to take the champ back over from the enemy.
3) Power Scrolls / Relics / Rares / Champ Skulls / Artifacts - A lot of people have mentioned that they would love to have power scrolls drop in the bank... I do not think that it is a great idea and I can surely see the PROS and CONS with this idea. Overall - it would greatly reduce the PVP at champ spawns.. which isn't really a great thing and would make it way too "easy mode".. What about a "compromise" between the PVMers and PVPers and allowing 1 of the following to drop in the bank: Rares, skulls, artifacts, relics ? But of course - for power scrolls to still drop in people's bags on themselves.
4) As with Despise and also I think Oaks - the boss cannot leave the champion spawn area. In regard to Terra Keep - why is it that people can lure Meph all the way to the other side of the keep? The majority of the people that did the spawn and put in all the hours of work don't even realize that the boss is 1/2 way across the dungeon (this happens almost daily with this spawn) by the time they rez and go back... What about changing this champion spawn so that either A) Meph tele's back to the altar once he is really far away or B) Not allowing him to cross past a certain point - like Barracoon on the west side?
5) Create a gold sink item that costs a lot of gold.. but that allows you to open a custom champion spawn portal from anywhere you wish to a new champion site like somewhere in T2A.... However - so that it does not take away from the frequent common champion spawn sites too much - limit it to like only 2-3 a week thats available on the vendor and at a high gold price. This would allow PVM people/guilds the ability to do a champion spawn "In peace" for at least only 2-3x a week only without getting screwed over by wasting hours of work and having reds raid when the champ partygoers that are not all with each other (ex. usually only 5-6 people in my alliance) to have dead pets, friends, and low stock due to the L4 spawn + boss.
6) Have 1 power scroll randomly devoted to any of the top 3 ranks: 1st, 2nd or 3rd place .... There are often times where not one person will get a scroll that is in the top 3 on the scoreboard.
7) Clarificaiton on how close you have to be to the boss in order to get a drop if you are eligible for one. Is it 10 tiles? 20 tiles? Can it be increased by say - an extra 10 or so tiles?
