Can this roof cover the missing area...customizing question.

I haven't customized a house in years and years and i was never good at which is why i preferred large towers, keeps, and castles.

But I finally found a house I want to keep so I haven't done much to it yet, but when I try to place another roof tile set to the right it says its invalid, which leaves a gaping hole for bats n such to fly in.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I tried to make it as least offensive looking as possible but I am *not* an artist but I didn't want a cube...anyway vendor house coming one day...

Thanks!

thinking about it, using a little bit of the common sense I have left, I will assume i just need to turn the roof around...and that just put the gap in the front...i must be doing something wrong, unless rooves are only meant to be built on the top level, but that would be asinine.

I've run into this problem too. Tried to make my 18x18 into the classic Large House with Patio, but the South and East facing roofs had the same gap. Ended up just going with a flat roof instead.

Thx im going leave a gap unless a house expert can help me. I like the coloring of the wood (too bad that tile set has no windows), and roof and try to make my *designs* as close to a classic type as I can....will mess with lowering and other roofing options...

Think i figured it out, it was something i thought i tried, I started the roof at lvl 6 when it needed to be started at 4. I was thinking the last tile set on each side was sinking into the design, but when u go down a lvl you see it isn't. And I had to turn the roof 90 degrees as the dimensions wouldn't take the the roof starting at 4 the way I wanted it. Now I need some deco so I can take out the south doors...might move the Canada wall to the other side, thought it fit in a little better, and it gave me a window....I've been putting off this building for a bit, glad i was bribed into making the house. TY!

@Faytality does hose designs, she is an expert at this
I have seen her designs and love 'em, one of the few ppl that can make customs look close to classics, or even better! I am afraid I don't have the deco or gold to hire her, and i figured out my roofing issue. Once I have lots o' gold and deco, I will hire her!

When I have those gaps, I fill them in with a contrasting short wall that goes with the main wall.

I thought of that too and tried using same wall but the smallest size of course to fill in the gap, but couldn't get 1 spot. You are a genius though!

Well that's about as good as I can do without spending a week on it. I already spent 2 hours and changed 2 or 3 tiles 6 times, damn ocd, so if any vendors wanna set up shop I'd like, this portion has been moved to selling forums, as I figure its off topic form original thread. Thx

Alternatively you can just add a cantilever effect to your original where the roof will extend out another tile or else bring the wall back. Depending on the size it might not work but it's worth a try.
