Bolas... trust me, it can work(newb friendly)

It's hard to make good things like this work when you're dealing with a population full of care bears.

They won't understand no matter how much sense you make.

I would say if a character is dismounted from a bola then he can't be stunned for x amount of time. That is, if I was voting yes for bolas...
I still think they'd make the fights too quick. Especially with zerg groups.
As far as tamers using them, you could always make it to where if you have more than one pet slot then you can't use a bola. But then someone else would use the bola and the pets can just go to town

that wont happen so you want to implement bolas, right?


and you consider yourself an elite player.

i would think elite players wouldnt give a toon the CHANCE to run, let alone be successful at it.


Seems to me, all those that want bolas might want to considering upping their OWN game instead.


(and I want bolas to be relavant for one reason only. I have a set and I want to sell them.)

not because people are more cunning than me and run away as opposed to just standing there to get ganked and looted.


you toons in EQMS are too much.
Anything in game that you cant dominate to your full advantage you call for a nerf.

Just face the facts that you arent as good as you think you are. Otherwise, your prey wouldnt be getting away so easily and often.


hurts, I know..........but, being a neutral umpire that calls the pitches as I see them can be a hard job.

Yeah.. Im not for bolas, there are already stuns, pots and combos out there that are killing plenty of people. If you cant catch up with someone legitimately then maybe you weren't meant to?


Edit: And that's the one that got away.

Its sad to see so many people have no idea why bolas are important and why with this idea they wouldnt be op(not that they ever were).

Tactics won't not necessary. With tactics requirement only tamers with weapon skill, big groups and dexxers could use them.

This same type of thread pops up occasionally. Somebody already said it above but Shane has concretely stated multiple times that bolas won't happen. Same with wands. He doesn't want item-based PvP. And to his credit, his stance on these sort of things is why I chose this server when I came back to UO two years ago. And I know that I'm not the only one. Call me a newb, whatever. These are the facts.

Let me save you the disappointment of how this turns out. One or two PvP guilds who comprise 0.001% of the population (but 99% of forum posts) and even less donations will clamor for this change. Nobody else wants it. The thread slowly disappears. The world keeps turning.

The only way I'd be okay with bolas, is if they were not usable on humans or in pvp at all.. They would only be usable by tamers to "paralyze" creatures so they could tame them....

Bleh, spent enough years with bolas on another server to know they can be a right issue if not implemented correctly, but it would be funny to see a red crafter running in groups with the only purpose of throwing bolas, *MURDERED BY A CRAFTER*, the new insult..
