Arms Lore changes

I'm sure this is covered somewhere already so my apologies.

I just created my first character in UOF about a week ago and was making a lumberjack to ease back into the game. As I've been reading the forums I see Arms Lore now provides an increase hit %.

My experience so far was a lot of whiffs even at GM swords with my axe. What's the feeling out there from a PvM point of view with carrying Arms Lore for a LJ? Do you need to carry a full 100 points in it to see real benefit?

U have meta talisman right?

Arm lore only gives bonus damage towards pvm when u equip meta talisman

Ahh no I do not have a meta talisman, it seems like that's a fairly high level item from the things I've read on the forum so far. I think it may be a while until I get there.

So in other words there is no point in adding Arms Lore until I have reached that point? It seems to have gained very quickly. Would you recommend just picking it up once I get a talisman?

Its not a "high level" item to get started, well..sort-of.

It takes 30 vanqs to start the talisman quest, then you kill 100 evil creatures (things with over 500hp - ogre lords, dragons, etc..) then kill the arch daemon (do some damage to him and be alive when he dies (spawns ever 4-5 hours in wrong)).

Once you have the talisman the arms lore thing only works on mobs with over 100 wrestling (high level mobs), but as you are 100 fighting skill youd hit them less than 50% of the time, with AL you now hit them 66.6% of the time....so its a HUGE difference.

People sell quest vanqs on the forums all the time fro around 7-8k each. It should only take 4-5 hours of farming to be able to buy them. Ogre mages tend to have a VERY high drop rate of vanq clubs, so they are tough for non-tamers, but very rewarding financially.

Id recommend getting the berserker talisman as fast as possible. It pays itself off quickly. Each level (10 total) increases your damage by 5%. And yes, getting to level 10 does take a long time, but a lot of people have done it and would all agree its well worth the grind.

I would consider it a late game achievement, but then again, you can begin this early in your UOF career.

If you have anymore questions you are welcome to PM me or keep it here on the open forums for others to comment and help anyone else who stumbles across the thread.

arms lore does not seem to do anything for archery

my berzerker archer has had arms lore for last few months and I dropped it for hiding because it seemed useless. i would miss literally 14 times in a row, that's the highest miss streak i counted but missing over 10 times is common

I saw a staff post hinting that + accuracy bows make arms lore redundant already, so I've been using + 25 accuracy bows and have not noticed a difference in not having arms lore, was nice to free up 100 skill points

i do notice arms lore makes a big difference on my defense tali swordsman though

Outstanding! Thank you!

My berserker tali is only at level 3 and it's already worth it. Very fun when you start being able to one-shot stuff.

Getting relics to add to your talisman is definitely high-level though... they can cost up to 10 mil and rarely drop. I think it might be better to ignore the whole relic thing and just level the talisman for the damage increase and call it good.
