Armor Dex Loss

Did they change the Dex Loss again? I will admit I am too lazy to look, but I commented on a post the other day where a guy was trying to sell a full set of slayer plate armor, and he stated it only had -8 Dex loss.

Last time I checked, after the nerf a few months back, an archer suit have -11 Dex loss, so I called BS on his post, but I just wanted to see it they tweaked the dex loss numbers recently, as in this month.

I think it's -9 right now for full plate.

The hit to armor dex loss was very short lived and then it was reverted (or heavily toned back down). It's been back to "normal" for longer than this month though - normal being what it has been on this server for a while. The dex loss is a little broken, imo. I'm not sure why they switched it back.

Yeah, traditional dex suits are 33AR/-3 Dex, which is a little weak if you consider that barbed studded is 34AR/-0dex. Even plane barbed leather set is 31AR/0dex. And of course you can always add barbed bone pieces to increase those AR numbers even more.

For PvM, full plate really isn't that bad anymore with 48AR/-9 Dex, but it still doesn't see much use as far as I can tell.

My personal favorite mix is a set of ring gloves, chain legs, close helm, plate gorget, plate chest and plate arms. 41AR/-5Dex. It has a high enough AR value to make it worthwhile over barbed but only an extra -2 dex loss over an archer set.

For a dexer, barbed Bone is the best GM armor in my opinion. It provides 50AR and 0 dex loss. And it's much, much lighter. Not a lot of people consider the weight of armor but having an extra 20 stones free makes a pretty big difference IMO.

The only thing is that the leather stuff seems to drop in AR much quicker than metal armor. So if you're out leveling your talisman or you're out fighting a macer, you'll start to notice the drop in your AR quicker.

You do realize that while an iron archer suit is only 33AR, each ore type up increases that by 2 points. A valorite archer suit will give you 49AR.

Its a little dishonest to compare the base metal suit (iron) vs. the top end leather suit (barbed).

I can see where you are coming from, but I compared those and not valorite because valorite ingots are quite a bit more expensive than barbed leather. I guess you could use a copper set or whatever color is more equivalent cost-wise if you like. Not sure what those numbers are.

Of course, at pretty much any level the heavier set is going to still outperform the light dex set. At valorite it's 49/-3 to 57/-5.
