Are we getting poorer?

If you think you're getting poor, here are my thoughts about it as well.

1. People tend to keep valuable items such as wearable clothing deco, statues, more deco. Instead of reselling to obtain your gm tamer status for easier farming, it literally sits on that players account. You either farm for that purpose or farm to pvp.

2. Some get caught up in just leveling one character that does all pvm,pvp and never get around to farming because well...its harder, unless your a cookie cutter provo archer build. Its fine having a main character but spruce it up a bit and try something else like crafting, provo archer/mage,tamerrrrr.

And for me? Well I still enjoy farming to help out guildies or alliance. Whether it is champs or tmaps and just having fun seeing how long we can last before we get into a brawl. Either way, I'm bound to find a rare or drop worth a damn every so often. So in the end, your only poor if you think about being poor. hang out with people who don't :)

What happens now is that playerbase is higher, that means that there is more gold in the server but splitted in different hands so the acquisition power of people is lower and that makes people offer lower bids.

yeah this is one of my thoughts.

Now, its just a problem of people lowering prices to accomodate for the economy. This is harder for some people to do than farming is.

Yes but you aren't finding them every single day like people were.
Don't get me wrong, I love how inflation has been kept in check on this server. That's a great thing, but the bottoming out of many markets is a little concerning. it's almost easier now to get the 20 extra points for the skill cap via tailoring instead of the traditional peacemaking route. The one market that remains strong pretty much revolves around taming items.

I would say I wonder why that is, but its pretty obvious. Almost every update for the past year has had changes/new mounts/cool stuff for tamers.
This is true, however archery has seen some good changes with the new wood. I hope they continue to bolster crafting and pvp. Tamers have had enough attention lol

We've been talking about this recently. We have sunk a TON of gold with the newer additions to the gold sink items. A fun fact, 6 months ago we were at 3 billion gold on the server. Today, we are around 2.8. So in 6 months of relatively the same player base, we have reduced gold by 200 million.

Did a lot of the gold go into meta stones?

As much as it sucks watching things not sell, you guys are doing a killer job on the economy. Good work.

all guys did cry about inflation (but there was no real inflation issus in my eyes) now we got deflation and again crying

it was obviously that deflation will kills the economy

You say a lot about crying, but I haven't seen this "crying" you keep referring too. People are simply having a discussion about the economy lol

lol I'm not sure I know what crying means...

Using deflation/inflation terms in a classical sense to describe an imaginary UO economy - where currency can be created by killing monsters or buying dono coins - is stupid.

Yes the value of gold has increased temporarily, that is good. People will farm more and gold will become less valuable again.

The point of my comment was to commend Adam and Shane and Cark on keeping gold valuable. Pretty unheard of, especially on a PvM centric shard with a big player base. I hope they keep it up.

There is nothing wrong with the price of an item dropping. They would still be worth millions when dropped from champions, just not 3 million
