Anyone here successfully replace old sound effects with UOFiddler?

Hello all, I'm wanting to play around a little with just the sound effects of UO and am having some issues. I'm using mono .wav files as replacements but always get an annoying crackle sound in game during the prompt of the new sound effect. Has anyone successfully replaced old sound effects with UOfiddler or mulpatcher? And if so please explain how you did it!

How were you able to get it into the game properly? What exact sound format, audio converter, .mul software etc did you use please!

Anyone else? I have this same question posted in 3 other UO free shard forums, although I only play UO Forever. Sadly enough it's always the same thing. People saying they've done it but "don't remember how" or directing me to random sound links that don't work. Certainly someone has done it and remembers how.. Replacing sounds is the simplest thing to do in Fiddler, it's just the format and conversion of the sound file itself I'm assuming that's complicated.
