Un-check the light filter on the assistant you are using (Razor/UOSteam). That should make it get darker at night time.

it could set the player's light level at a darker state, even allowing players to have a unique night sight experience in dungeons! not so dark you can't see, but still dark and with all the torch glow effects

Sorry baddie - wasn't meant to come out as hateful, was just trying to figure out the purpose behind the suggested change so I could understand. Sounds like you may have a solution though!
