I keep one pet ball just for my meta pet - it never changes. I use two others for other things that I might take out instead.

I think this must be what I did. I always link pet to ball right when I pull her out of the stables.
Problem solved I bought another pet ball !!

I leave my pet balls in my house or bank, so I don't misclick and waste charges, or anything like that!
