About Selling expensive items

So its been a long time since ive played so im a little rusty on the best way to go about selling things worth good money. Back in the day when i played people could agree to buy something from you and you would meet up somewhere (a bank most of the time) and exchange a check for the item but sometimes people would have their theif or a freinds thief beside them and when you put the item in the trade window they would close it so the item would go into your bag and then be stolen. So my question is does stuff like that still go on and is a house Vendor the only way to sell items without having to worrie about crooks?

Inside and on top of west brit bank there is a "save zone" where you can trade without the risk of thieves.

West Brit bank, inside or on the roof is a safe place to trade.

Outside the bank is not safe. Thieves can still anywhere else.

Do you still have to do that stuff where you throw in another item, like a reg, or something in with whatever you're selling so that cancel trade window thing doesn't happen where they get your item and keep the money? I'm sure that got fixed but it's been awhile since I've needed to really buy/sell anything.

I'm not familiar with this bug. I use a reg to start the trade so I don't actually miss the target when trying to drag something onto them. They might take a step and you place it on the ground by accident. Particularly bad with checks since most people have them on scavenger. It's always wise to begin the trade with a reg or bandaid. Then drag actual items into the trade window.

Right that's what I meant. So yeah still a thing people should be doing just to be safe. Didn't know if the safe zone prevented bugs or anything shifty like that from happening.
