They're pretty tough... I've heard them described as "the balron of spiders." But if you have a talisman, a pet with quicksilver or an archer you can kite with they're not that hard to kill. There aren't many in game, but I know one spot -- pm me if you want to meet up and I'll show you.

I was wondering for the sole reason that I got a monster contract to kill 96 of them. If there is only one spawn then the task seems impossible

It is the only spawn that I know of and they are a bit of a challenge, but the respawn rate doesn't seem too bad, going by a friend who did the same contract.

It's not impossible, I did a contract for 100 of them. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it though, given the low chance of a decent reward. And now that the location's been posted you might get more griefers.

It is better to just show location and help, rather than just tell the person to find it.

I've never heard of monster contracts. Where do you find them?

You go to Heracles, double-click him, and target a statuette of your desire. After you have done this, he will drop a deed in your backpack, which is known as a "monster contract" that expires in 2-weeks, now. Heracles is located SW of West Britain Bank.
Side note: the statuette will vanish and can no longer be retrieved.

There is another spawn in Booty Dungeon near Spider Queen.

As halv said, booty dungeon, when you go in, hang a right after the second corner, some little spiders there, and 3 more abnormals, beside the spider queen, your going to want to pull them out, and not fight beside the queen

Just want to take a moment to thank everyone on this thread for sharing info with me. It really helped me to complete this contract which I initially thought would be impossible. I thought I would share the info with you all. I took me two days of on and off play time, 3 abnormal spiders do spawn at the above location but it was a slow respawn timer of roughly 12-15 mins between. Unfortunately, my reward was a measly 11,532 gpsIt is better to just show location and help, rather than just tell the person to find it.
The frequent spawning of The paragon and Summer version of the Abnormal spiders did make things very tough at times but I still had fun. I died 3 times only and fought off one failed pvp attempt. I was hoping I would at least get a Abnormal Dread Spider Statue but that did not happen. I did collect the following however:
Over 150k gps
Ettin IDOC spawn holding a chest full of goodies
Headless Statue
Summer Chest off a Summer Abnormal Dread Spawn
A bunch of Vanq Weaps and Invul armor

Congrats! I think a lot of people look at the quantity on the contract, and the spawn rates, and write their contracts off, I've picked up a couple that I've gone off and done in a couple of days now. Glad to see you stuck with it!
Statue doesn't drop at all fortunately.
