A word about IDOC hunting

Don't bother.

After experiencing a couple of IDOCs this week, I must ask myself why did I even bothered. IDOCs here are way too well organized. People doing checks probably every 30 minutes, when days come near end. When it has surpassed Greatly worn and turned into IDOC, you will find people hiding there and waiting it to collapse.

That seems not to be worth of your time. You might get a couple of statues, or such bags / chests with trash in. That's true, but you will have to deal at most of the cases with overloaded issue. You won't be able to walk, or to recall away. You'll have to figure out how gating works.

When IDOC is happening, there will be around 10 people trying to get what you are trying to get. Same people at same IDOC locations. People, who are probably very skilled in IDOC hunting.

The problem is those, who have accurate timers. When IDOC is about to collapse, you'll see a gate coming up somewhere and ppl coming out of it to that direct corner, where all the valuable items are being held. It's very well planned. They don't even have to sit there in front of that IDOC for all those hours.

People, who have millions of gold already, do that. So IDOCs for you, who have zero gold and are trying to hunt these for money, don't bother.

The whole thing is over in about 5 minutes and ppl have put house spots as well there.

Now I get it why people are telling here IDOC locations to everyone. You might get a minor chance!

So.. if you find a Greatly worn spot, don't bother marking it and wasting a rune for that. Its already been known by some and same people (involved with each other). Character names I remember from last 3 IDOCs, who will probably be there in your IDOC:

Always Strapped
Tmap Me
Loot a Kryss
kill on sight
Super Shredden
Howland Reed
i see red people
Aemon Targarye

Last IDOC I was checking for several days during Greatly worn seeing no-one there (except Loot a Kryss was spotted) and when the IDOC happened, there were sadly a dozen of people. Thought it might be rare IDOC, since it was on an island. First time I saw a bigger guild coming in, attacking people and doing reveals all the time and that way keeping the IDOC for themselves. Other times there were people just hiding and gathering items. No-one attacking. No world pvp.

So again, if you find Greatly worn, or IDOC, its perhaps better letting everyone know them! To make these IDOC hunters work more difficult and turning IDOCs more chaos. Also I wonder why that time is so exact (10 hours 5 minutes) by 99%. Could make it, if possibility is lower than 99%. Very random times. Would totally change that boring stuff.

Here is one Greatly worn castle that is about to get IDOC soon. Probably in 1-3 days. And it has lots of rares / expensive stuff in! If you still want to do that.

Sorry about not having direct coordinates (will add soon) and sorry about this whine again (I like to chat) :)

EDIT: Forgot to add that I really respect those IDOC hunters having all that passion for hunting and organizing them that well. Respect!

It's all relevent to the amount of work you want to put in, if you're very casual about idocs you will be wasting a lot of time.

If you join an IDOC guild, put work in, make friends, you'll be part of one of the easiest ways to make millions per week.

Mendel is my character. I will occasionally time greatly worn houses if I happen to spot them. I'm not part of any large IDOC guild or anything like that, but I still do well enough at IDOCs, despite a certain zerg guild being all over them.

If people are gonna do the work ten let them rape the idoc. There is nothing stopping poor noob players from joining or forming aguild to do idocs I tried hiding before and gotten nothing too but i cant blame that on the hordes of people that fought for it.

In my opinion its just those exact times, which all IDOC hunters know. Greatly worn 7-10 days and IDOC 10 hours 5 minutes. The probability getting that 10 hr time is 99% what I've heard. Otherwise its totally random. What if that 99% was diminished.. would change the game.

Would be a nice dynamic to take away the timer. Could promote more actual pvp instead of just popping in at the last *known* minute. As timers are very very easy to get.

i think idoc system is too old and must be removed, too cheap way to become rich. items should just be removed when house falls. this will reduce item count on server too.

or maybe there should be server notification "house at 127 56 23 15 is gona fall in 10 minutes!" whenever an idoc is gona happen , so that many people will come and have fun...

TmapMe and Always Cheeseburger Same person
Kill on Sight and Loot a Kryss Same person

So.. You're competing with 2-5 people most of the time.

Just leave it as is. As with anything, if there's money in it then you can be sure that people will organise into groups and find efficient methods of getting it. Randomising timers will just shift it even more in their favour, since the big guilds have the time and manpower for regular patrols.

Merely suggesting the idoc 10h5m timer.
It's the effort leading up to that point that deserves the rewards, tracking from fairly all the way up.
There's no effort in macroing a timer.

Hell fucking no to the server message. The trackers put in time and effort. They deserve what they get.

IDOC Stopwatch
Gold sink vendor - tells you exact times
puts everyone on same playing field
makes for more mayhem

Mind you I time a lot of IDOCs but I wouldnt mind this for the random ones I find

Crazy idea: Once the house has passed the 10 hour, 5 minutes as IDOC, it remains standing until a player double clicks the house sign and pays 100% of the original value of the house to make it drop. Otherwise, it remains standing indefinitely. If the house continues past this IDOC deadline for another few days, an option appears for players to buy the house and everything inside of it for 200% of the original house value.

Huge gold sink, but might make solo IDOCing no longer a viable option.

HAVE FUN ALL

I think it's fine how it is. Of course the big houses full of shit are going to be camped by a lot of people. Go after the small ones if you have no money. Stop trying to hit the lottery and become a scrap collector with a steady income. I just got a small classic house the other night and only saw 1 other person and he quit waiting before it dropped. It only had 3 chests in it and i haven't really sorted through all the weapons and armor but I'm estimating those at around 30-40K total. And I sold a bunch of poison kegs to an alliance member at a discounted price and made 15K off those. All for little to no effort on my part.

I've seen 3 smallish houses drop in the past couple days. I placed a plot on one and the other 2 are still empty.

Funny thing...

I just advertised this IDOC in-game, gating up people at Brit Bank there etc. and dropping runes. This guy called Aemon Targarye popped up from the gate (I now remember his name from last IDOCs lol..) and he came to dispell all my Gates trying to stop people getting in this IDOC location.

How serious can this IDOC hunting be lol? He even started to chase me at Brit bank trying to stop me from making Gates to this IDOC location.

According to my estimate about 25 ppl have got into that gate in about 30 minutes. Kind of amazing how much attraction does this IDOC word make and how serious people are about these. Although only about 5 were actually in that spot, but at least people know that now.

Are you not serious for making threads about it? Complete with screen-shots.
If you didn't care you would have just shrugged it off and gone and done something else.

Also, don't worry about (!) Guild, they run when you have even half their numbers. Problem is trying to get half their numbers because the only time you see more than one, they have 7+.

I think this guy is just butt hurt because he showed up at an IDOC and didn't get what he wanted. Otherwise I don't see the point of this thread.

Nah man,I actually got a couple of statues and a black dye dub was there too, but failed to get it.

It's just the way of how its done here and that 99% probability.

I still dont understand what you want. You want it to be a random time between x and y hours? what problems do you see this solving?

At the moment its favoring these big guilds too much. Obviously that would change nothing, but don't you think that 99% probability for those is little too high?
