They are summoned wild and are about as worthless as worthless gets.

They just stand there and look at you.

Now don't take this as gospel but I heard from a source 'in the know' that these pirate parrots can be tamed and trained to be as strong as a young dragon. They can also be 'launched' from your ship to an enemy ship and they will attack whoever is at the helm of it.

The only weird thing is you need to beg them occasionally while training. They can only gain a set amount before they need to be begged to reset the limit.
