70 Cartography vs GM

I read some posts on this forum saying 70 Cartography is all it needs for t-map hunter. I wonder what is the difference between 70 vs GM? Thanks!

Less tries to decode higher maps. I stuck it at 70 n have no issues. Plus lets me have 30 med which helps a bit.
