close all instances of the game/windows. open the launcher. before playing the game, update. (tab on left side) click it a few time to make sure everything updates. play game.

Same thing happens to me. I gave up. right on top (no mining skill) shovel nor picks work. sucks, too, cuz Id like to work my provo archer out a lil bit and lvl1s are perfect for that. -cap

Taming and vet. skills i wish they would get rid of. but, if its gold and loots you seek......its the only way to fly. (and have a chance at surviving the battles that bring the -real- loot. of course the meta tamers in the group will hem and haw, but, thats how it is, friend.

because a meta-pet, in itself, isn't already way too much of an advantage? because sitting back and saying all kill isnt already way too much of an advantage? yes. i hate taming. it ruins the game. of course those with the investment will disagree, but, there are better ways to sink gold and...

If i recall correctly, the oldest versions of Ultima..... mandrake root could only appear, and be harvested, during a certain moonphase. but my memory sucks.

I like your proposals. (true randomness, needing stealing skills, not always 100% effective, breakable, etc.) All good ideas to ponder. And, yes, I agree that meta pets and taming is lame, too. :)

My only beef with stealable rares was/were that they spawned at known times and known locations. If it were (truly) random, it would be a welcome addition to the game. I was always interested in making a dungeon dwelling thief but I got to the game late and most of them, if not all of them, had...

how often you need to repair armor? even if you dont have points in arms lore, use the skill on that armor piece you want the condition of and it will tell you just that. (if its in good condition or not) Or you could keep the actual HP window open and physically keep an eye on your AR value...
