It's just a quick example, and part of a much larger macro. This just doesn't work, and I see no reason why this server restricts using injournal like this
What sort of things get posted in 'system'? Every macro I've tried to write using injournal doesn't seem to pick it up. For instance, I'm trying to write a simple mining macro to mine a spot until it's empty, but I just can't get it to work.

Scripting is a ton of fun. Some people enjoy different aspect of the game, and this is one of very few games where scripting is actually legal, so naturally people flock to it. I definitely wouldn't be playing if I wasn't allowed to script.
Thanks for pointing that out. Still having trouble with the last target setting seemingly not being sent to the client though. Try it yourself - Bind a last target macro with the in-game macro menu like crome is talking about. It doesn't appear that setalias actually changes the last target...
I'm actually having trouble getting this setup with my targeting macro in UOSteam. If I use this macro to attack/target a player:
@getenemy 'innocent' 'criminal' 'gray' 'murderer' 'humanoid'
if inrange 'enemy' 16
headmsg '* Attacking Player *'
setalias 'last' 'enemy'
warmode 'on'...
