I can make about 25-30k gold per hour farming on my mage. Tamers make 100-150k per hour farming, and you have the nerve to say there is no reward to working a tamer??? GTFO.

At GM you can pop level two chests, but yeah, the lockpicking skill is the way to go if you are wanting to do chests.

You can always hit up the tailor shops around town. Buy everything you can at once and it will go straight to your bankbox, so no need to make trips. I bought about 15k worth of bolts in about 10 mins.

Tinkering will be useful for making tools for your other skills. I highly recommend it. If you are going to go with magery, I would say carpentry as your last skill. You can make some pretty neat house deco with carpentry and magery/smithy/tailor.
