Dragons with near perfect stats don't sell for much. I see a few on the forums now with a dragon with max str and hit points and Int at 460 so far the highest bid is only 70k, which isn't a lot for a rare stat dragon. However, Perfect or near perfect white wyrms seem to sell well.
But I don't...
The problem with the vendors is that most people already don't tend to them much. So if you increase their cost (or tax) and don't tax sales through trades then players will just sell items directly ( flooding IRC chat or the selling forums) and by pass vendors altogether, making them completely...
Well I don't know most PS are from champs which come from monsters a 120 taming PS is selling for 5.5mil or more? Then there's SS specifically taming being the most worthy.
Pretty much all MMOs have a tax on sales and it certainly didn't hurt the new players and it helped curb inflation somewhat. UO is the only MMO I've played that didn't have a tax system through sales. Besides you have to choose one or the other, inflation or deflation. Right now there is nothing...
There is little to no effort when I placed my 2 story villa, but maybe I just got lucky. I am kind of thinking of taking it down and placing something larger because there still room for an upgrade.
These ideas don't sound to great...
If you're going to do a tax on housing sales then you might as well do a tax on all trade sales (Which is probably what needs to happen).
Upping the vendor contracts to 150k and/or daily min to 5k will just make vendors obsolete, people will just remove...
Geez, although I didn't auction for this, I really don't like the way you do auctions lol. This is the 2nd time when someone or people have bid on your items then you come back without any warning saying it's sold.
I think the biggest thing about death for a new player is getting out of it. When I first started playing again I had to use my 2nd to monitor to guide my way out of dungeons if I died and the thing is I am experienced in UO I just simply forgot the way, where as a new player wow... just imagine...
These are all vanity items. Players can and some do (like me) avoid these purchases and when someone does purchase them it's probably one time only meaning they're not always removing gold from the game.
The problem with your tax on homes is that houses will go IDOC a lot less frequently therefore home prices will go through the roof making it unattainable for the new players to have one.
But I do agree that something needs to be done to curb inflation. This idea might not be in favor with...
I am betting this will happen as it's the most efficient way to generate income. But then again once everyone has a tamer I don't think it'll be the most efficient template for farming :).
Well isn't that the point? Basic supply and demand? Except, It makes crafting a bit more viable at least in terms of crafting gear and having a player driven economy and at least a demand for crafters. Otherwise, you have your pvmers being both your gold generators and your crafters as it stand...
