Well there is always item id skill. Also several steam macros that will id everything in a bag and even sort it depending on its attributes. I know I'm also regulary leaving wands behind on corpses as I have too many already.

i don't think supply is an issue, it just seems a little crazy to have a consumable, that then requires more consumable. Just make it cost more to make or be rechargeable but requiring the repair kit which takes a fair amount of resources and it goes poof, and require more resources seems like...
a lot of the the spawn that I assume OP is talking about is the creatures that are trapped between the was of keeps and castles which is a server side issue and not malicious.
