Oddly though, I was on my newbie tamer in the newbie dungeon with a pack of bears, trying to finish the quest in there. You know, killing the Tomb Robbers. The bear kills were not giving me credit. Even though they are my bears (tamed). Not exactly on topic, but I thought it odd I don't get...
Correct. If you kill another player as a thief you get temporarily banned from the thieves guild. Forgot to point that out.
Choosing your thief template is tough because although you really need Snooping/Stealing, the rest is negotiable. There is plenty of room to maximize your needs and...
Very true. Lots of utility with Magery, one cannot deny that. It depends on exactly what one is aiming for.
EDIT: Also with Remove Trap you needn't worry about breaking Stealth, unlike casting Telekinesis. But yes, lots of benefits with Magery besides this fact.
If you go all-out as a pure thief and rely on Runebooks to get around, try this:
Hiding
Snooping
Stealing
Lockpicking
Remove Trap
Wrestling
Stealth
Very squishy and no healing though. At all. Your only defenses are Wrestling and good playstyle. And luck.
Hiding/Wrestling/Stealing/Snooping/Tracking/Stealth (80 is perfectly fine)/Magery 60/Med 60. This would provide good utility and the basics of a mage-thief.
There are also several variations that include a stun-thief, disarm-thief, pure thief, etc.
I may make a crafter at some point. I made a tamer but don't think I want to put the time/resources into completing one. Who knows though. I certainly don't have the kind of cash to eat SS after SS for easy-win, nor do I want to sit and tame for 500 hours for 120 (after also finding/buying PS...
I know folks who have made bank on being a thief. Yes, being a PK can net more because you can just dry loot some poor guy. Being a (good) thief takes finesse, patience and practice.
I've done mediocre. I haven't engaged in it much lately. I do have another one in training though.
I personally just used the apple method on a few different characters. I definitely like the other options though.
I may decide to scrap several characters and just make a bunch of thieves, with variations in skills of course. I just love thieves :)
On my treasure hunter I settled on GM Wrestling/Lockpicking/Remove Trap/Hiding/Tracking/80 Stealth/60 Magery/60 Med. Still working on the LP and RT. Doesn't seem all that lucrative unless a) I'm not hitting the correct areas, b) I am, but someone gets to chests first or c) it's just not a...
You could forgo GM stealth (80 is fine without armor), drop Carto to 70, and put the 50 points back into Med.
EDIT: As Macunzo stated. Didn't read entire post before replying. Habit of mine. Apologies.
Yes. They are considered owners of the house as well, even though they (in-game) may not technically be listed as "co-owners" (ie-you didn't add them in-game).
There are times I can have server connection issues and usually it goes away. Your location may have something to do with it as well. Beyond this make sure you have the current client as others noted. Perhaps contact admin, if all else fails.
Regardless, happy hunting and good luck.
Actually, there are plenty of suggestion threads and from what I can see staff tend to be on quite often. Or if you prefer you can just be angry. That usually gets things done.
