God @Mango you're so pretty!! Edit: just to not have a non topic post.. I agree with fixing crafter griefing... Or at the minimum, make it so if you go gray when you attack someone, every time you hit them, guards can be called on you.. This would fix the attacking from the edge, then mowing...

I used all of my cloak armor patches on newbie cloaks.. So I'd say yes, except that the patches are better used on actual blessed items, because newbie ones aren't blessed on reds.. and with expensive cloth, you can make more money.
