You can... You just have to use scissors on the the pieces - the rib cages and whatnot, and then use a tailor kit, go to bone, and bingo.

I think there should be more ways to get meta mage/dexxer relics, as many as there are. You can do champs and RDA's all the time and get pet relics for days, but you have like 3 ways of getting dexxer/mage relics? I've gotten a lot of pet relics in the past month, but I have never in my playtime...
